Discover Nebraska Beyond the Interstate! 🚗🌾 Why is Nebraska often overlooked, even though Interstate 80 runs right through it? Many travelers have zipped through the 455 miles of I-80 in Nebraska, stopping only for gas, food, or restrooms, missing out on the state’s hidden gems. For a while, #VisitNebraska even embraced the tagline, “We’re not for everybody,” highlighting its unique attractions that deserve a closer look. 🌽🛤️ I recently attended the Midwest Travel Writers Conference (#MWTRAVELCON25) in Grand Island, hosted by #VisitGrandIsland and the Midwest Travel Network. This event opened my eyes to the vibrant culture and natural wonders of the area. Grand Island is not only home to the Nebraska State Fair but also a vital stopover for millions of Sandhill Cranes migrating through the central Platte River Valley—a breathtaking sight for nature lovers! 🦩🌅 On my way to other destinations, I stopped in Kearney, NE, to visit The Archway—a massive monument and a history museum that spans Interstate 80. Having driven under it many times, I finally took the time to explore this impressive piece of history, celebrating the pioneers and the Great Platte River Road. Next time you’re on I-80, slow down and discover the unexpected treasures Nebraska has to offer! 🌟🚙 “Nebraska … the good life.” Classic Rock song: "Wildfire” by Michael Martin Murphy (“..on a cold Nebraska night..”) Please email me about your experiences visiting Nebraska or any other midwestern state! Last week, I took a ghost tour on Summit Avenue in St. Paul. No, I didn't get scared! The tour was interesting from both a historical and a paranormal view perspective. If you are in the area, consider taking the tour. The base tour runs about an hour and 15 minutes and you can add an advanced option to see three more haunted locations. Here's the link which covers the base options. https://www.the-driveby-tourist.com/astonishing-ghosts-st-paul/ Thanks, Until next time... Stan

Visiting all 50 states was a goal of mine that I reached years ago. I enjoyed it so much that I did it again starting in 2014. I've learned through several travel sources that North Dakota is, for many people, their 50th state. They will give you a T-shirt and a certificate to recognize that momentous time in your life! I did research and created a...
