Resending: Here I go again – All 50 states

How many people do you know who’ve visited all 50 US states?

I understand that 1 – 2% of Americans have done so. Many don’t believe it’s worth visiting some states, typically the Midwestern states. I’m fortunate to live in Minnesota, which many people want to visit! As a Great Lake state, there are many things to do and see here.

Weirdly, many mention the Mall of America. It’s just a big mall, with some entertainment included. Like the indoor amusement park, now named Nickelodeon Universe. It’s good if you have kids.

I like the Sea Life Aquarium. Great attraction, but I believe I wouldn’t go to MOA if I were visiting. The Twin Cities have a lot to see and do, but I’d suggest going north to Duluth and the North Shore of Lake Superior. Beautiful drive with eight state parks.

Back to my “All 50 States,” I’ve visited every state at least twice. As a result, I developed a post to “show off” my visits. Some will think it’s bragging, and others will find it boring. If you think that, at least take a look at it! Here’s the link.\

Over the course of about five years, I’ve reviewed my memory and any notes and communications to determine how much time I’ve spent in each state. And as I continue to update it, I have identified my favorite places in each state.

Then, I included a section detailing the amount of time I’ve spent in each state, accompanied by a map to illustrate. I’ve spent the most time in Minnesota, my home state. I also lived in Fargo, ND, for nearly 25 years.

Next, I identified, in order, the other states where I’ve spent the most time. The list goes, Alaska, Arizona, Nebraska, Florida, California, Kansas, Tennessee, Wisconsin, and Colorado. There are more where I've spent at least a cumulative month in those states.

Now, I’d like to know what you think of my post. Will you either reply to this email or click on this link to comment? Here are some responses you may have:

· Bragging

· Boring

· Showing off

· Informative

· Interesting

· Waste of time!

· Or ………

Thanks!

Why would you visit all fifty states!

Travel and novels get you into American history. While driving Route 66, some of the museums you visit along the way display scenes that may represent The Grapes of Wrath. It’s about a family in Oklahoma who lose everything. The Dust Bowl of the 1930s yielded little to no crops. They lose their land. The family reads about “the land of plenty” in California. They, along with thousands of others, go west. The book details their struggles along the way with no money, deaths, auto breakdowns,...

Because it’s there! Sac City, IA, is home to the world’s largest popcorn ball. They made it to celebrate the history of popping corn grown in the area. Initially, their popcorn ball was removed from the record because the Indiana State Fair made one larger. Theirs was 6,510 pounds, eclipsing the Sac City former record of about 5,000 pounds. In 2016, Sac City residents decided to reclaim the record. Their efforts weighed 9,370 pounds and were twelve feet in diameter. The record still stands...
