When traveling, don’t you think about seeing a place again? I thought about that a lot on my recent Presidents & Parks trip. Some are practical to revisit, some are nearly “must-sees” again, and others are ones I’ll see if I get the chance. Let’s go! Here’s my list: 1. National Parks a. Arches – Must see b. Big Bend – If I get a chance, it’s 200 miles from El Paso and 400 miles from San Antonio! c. Mesa Verde – If I get a chance d. White Sands – If I get a chance 2. US Presidents a. Harry S Truman – Very well done, and it is probable that I will visit again. b. Dwight D. Eisenhower – A great president and probable for me to visit again. c. Lyndon B. Johnson – I served in the Navy during the LBJ years, and as a young adult, the times impacted me. 3. Other places a. The World War I Museum in Kansas City, MO, is very well done and popular, and that war was a significant factor in the US's becoming a world power. b. Route 66 i. The route itself. Drive any part! Or all of it! ii. Williams, AZ iii. Stand on the Corner in Winslow, AZ iv. Galena, KS—specifically Gearhead Curios! A motel with cabins modeled after gas stations, complete with pumps, is planned. v. Seligman AZ vi. And so much more! c. Dealey Plaza in Dallas where John F. Kennedy was assassinated. I could go on and give you more places, but those are the ones that come to mind immediately as I think about my trip. How about you? What places have you visited that you’d like to see again? A h Greetings, adventurers! Ready to step back in time? Mesa Verde National Park in Colorado is a breathtaking destination where history and nature collide. Famous for its incredible cliff dwellings, this UNESCO World Heritage site offers a fascinating glimpse into the lives of the Ancestral Puebloans who lived here over 700 years ago. 🏜️⛰️ I visited this park and plan to write a post about it later. Here’s a picture of the park. The park’s iconic cliff dwellings, like Cliff Palace and...
Greetings, beach lovers! I’m continuing my recurring theme of telling you about the best beaches in the US. Nantucket's beaches are calling your name if you dream of soft sand, sparkling waves, and breathtaking sunsets. This charming island off the coast of Massachusetts is home to some of New England's most beautiful and serene beaches. 🌅🐚 From Children's Beach's calm, family-friendly shores to Madaket Beach’s wild, windswept beauty, there’s a perfect spot for everyone. Whether you want to...
The longest road in the world is called the Pan-American Highway! The highway runs (unofficially) from Deadhorse, AK, to Ushuaia, Argentina. That’s from North America's northern-most drivable point to South America's southern-most drivable point! It’s about 19,000 miles and passes through 14 countries. I considered this when looking for a comparison for my 8,900-mile road trip, which I completed about ten days ago. The Pan-Am isn’t a specific road and isn’t officially recognized in the US and...
