Hey, Road Warriors! 🚗💨 Ever felt like your standard pit stop was just a bit too... small? If you’re cruising through the Nevada desert, you’ll find a monument to the American road trip: the World’s Largest Chevron—the legendary Terrible’s Road House on I-15 in Jean, NV! 🌵✨ (Can it really be “legendary” if it opened only nine years ago!??!) Spanning a massive 50,000 square feet, this isn't just a gas station; it’s a desert destination. With 96 pumps, you’ll almost never have to wait for a fill-up. Inside, it’s a neon-lit wonderland featuring 60 sparkling clean restrooms, a massive beer cave, and even a life-sized Bigfoot for those essential road trip selfies! 📸👹 But how does it stack up against the Texas titan, Buc-ee’s? 🦫⛽️ While the Jean Chevron is a behemoth, Buc-ee’s still holds the crown for pure scale. The newest Buc-ee’s locations, like the one in Luling, TX, clock in at over 75,000 square feet with 120+ pumps. The vibes are also worlds apart:
If you want a taste of the Nevada desert and a massive selection of snacks, the Jean Chevron is a must-visit. But if you need a gallon of sweet tea and a t-shirt with a beaver on it, Texas is still calling your name. If you are a dedicated US Road Tripper, be sure to look for these huge convenience stores! Safe travels, and keep those tanks full! ⛽️✌️ By the way, if you can’t find a Buc-ee’s and you aren’t in Nevada, look for Wally’s in the Midwest, Wawa’s on the East Coast, Sheetz in the Mid-Atlantic/Midwest, Kwik Trip/Kwik Star in the Upper Midwest, and others. Most of them aren’t nearly as large, but they offer more than a typical C-Store. Sorry, looks like this newsletter “morphed” into more than just Terrible’s! A a In the small town of Newbury, NH, a simple piece of roadside graffiti has become a legendary symbol of enduring love. 🌲💖 Along Route 103, a jagged stone outcropping bears a message that stops travelers in their tracks: "Chicken Farmer, I still love you." The legend began in the 70s or 80s (the legend is unclear), when a shy teenage boy, smitten with a girl who lived on the chicken farm across the street, painted "Chicken Farmer, I love you" on a rock. 🐔💌 Too nervous to speak to her in...
